The Editing process: Day 1

As the Editor for the film, I had to be efficient due to the lack of time while doing my best.

Using Adobe Premier Pro, I started editing. I used the song "Jeepers Creepers". Adding the song "Jeepers Creepers" to our movie makes it more interesting for viewers.

Just like how songs such as "Tiny Tim - Tiptoe Through The Tulips" and "Daisy Bell" are used in short videos online to create a spooky feeling, "Jeepers Creepers" does the same thing with its upbeat jazz sound.

Even though it sounds cheerful, it still makes you feel a bit uneasy. The lyrics, especially when they talk about eyes a lot, make you think about things like being watched, feeling scared, or keeping secrets hidden.

I wanted the starting to be neutral and happy hence using a lighter tone of color grading, that I thought could be carried out throughout the film.

Through the use of cross-cutting, I synchronized scenes where the main actress delivers her lines with shots of her toys. This editing technique creates a dynamic interplay between the dialogue and the visuals, enhancing the overall storytelling experience.

Additionally, I edited the shots to alternate between the character's point of view (POV shots) and shots from behind, employing techniques like shot reverse shot and POV shots. This approach was chosen to convey the character's perspective as she creates her vlogs.

Here are some of the tutorials that helped me:

I used a green screen youtube template:

The glitch effect I used:

"Adobe in a Minute" helped me a lot since it had videos that were short but self explainatory.
