Lighting

 Lighting in media:

whether film, photography, or television, is a pivotal element influencing the mood and visual aesthetics of a scene. It serves to highlight subjects, create atmosphere, and convey emotions. The strategic use of natural or artificial light, along with techniques like three-point lighting, contributes to the clarity and visibility of visuals. Time of day and practical lighting elements within a scene further impact the overall look. Lighting choices can symbolize themes or character traits, adding layers of meaning to the narrative. In essence, skillful manipulation of lighting is essential for effective visual storytelling in various media forms.

In our class, we were able to learn using a LED Portable Light, how light changes with temperature. Using varying white color temperatures in order to control the light from a warm to cool tone.

TIP: Blue light is very energy intensive, and red, yellow and green light operate at lower energy levels.
